GOD IS LOVE - Poem

GOD IS LOVE   Red is the roses, v iolets are blue, Yet my heart w ill stay true to You. Yellow is the sun, grasses are green, You're more than anything I've ever seen. You were the builder of light and dark, You've done it all, and never in part. Why shouldn't I be like You?   His love runs like an ocean, And it flows down to my heart. I see the beauty of Eden, From which its splendor cannot depart. His love blossoms like flowers, And they make my whole life glow. I feel the presence of Your power In everything You own.    "Love one another a s Jesus loves you", Won't I show kindness i n all that I do? For if today we decide to look beyond the cover, And remember the question, "What are you doing for others?", Then we would be compelled to certainly make it A better food for the miserable mind, That is much sweeter than malice And the hate that thrives.   God is love! And love is from ...

LOVING FRIENDS - Poem

LOVING FRIENDS

It is a good thing to know
That a friend is more than money and gold.
"Show me your friend,
And I will tell you who you are";
Do we truly love our friends
Or just love being at par?
Do we fight and make trouble
And cause people to cry and be sorrowed?
Should we do these things?
Are we being fair to God
By the words we fling
And the noises we sing?

"Love one another as Jesus loves you",
Will we not show kindness in all that we do?
For if we would look beyond the cover,
And remember the question "What are you doing for others?"
Would we not be compelled to make
A better food for the mind,
That is much sweeter than malice
And the hate that thrives?

Put the grudges away!
And end the incorrection made to us today!
Let's learn to value one another - 
There's nothing worse than living alone and sober.
If we must move fast, we will move alone,
But if we must move far, we won't do on our own. 
Now let's get out there and change our ways,
And be loving friends from today always!

FOR A SLICE OF BREAD - Poem

FOR A SLICE OF BREAD What do I want than a slice of bread? Will food or water accomplish my quest? Nothing I want more than a slice of bread, Either have this or better be dead. "Wake up! It's morning, you had a good sleep", I hear the voice call me out from my deep; Prayers, then toothpaste that smells so good, My teeth must be white because of the food. The bathtub is great, me splashing in the soap, Remember there's school - I'll go pack my notes; Breakfast is done and we're rushing to be fed, My biggest concern be that first slice of bread. STARS IN THE DARK - Poem

STARS IN THE DARK Daytime's reign is old with time. The sun stoops slowly in a western decline. The king of night is seen a faint distance away, While awaiting the end of another day. The inhabitants of light have retired to bed, And the creatures of darkness have risen, like yeast in bread. Nighttime is here; it is full of blackness, Crickets are singing, they sing of the darkness -  The darkness that engulfs joy and brings sorrow, The darkness that makes the sight seem so narrow, The darkness that delays in bringing tomorrow. I stand on top of a high hill, And look down on the world so still: It is so dark, so dark I cannot see, I can't tell if murderers stand behind me.
